How It Works
Each week has a clear learning goal drawn from your term plan. Read the goal, join your session, then click the game card to practise. Games are added as each week is delivered.
The 8-Week Series
Identify the whole, represent fractions of a collection and a whole, and explain what numerators and denominators mean. Extension: connect fractions to decimals and percentages.
Week 1 Game Fractions of a Collection & a Whole →Convert between mixed numbers and improper fractions, model them visually, and explain what each form means. Extension: move fluently between forms and solve sharing problems.
Week 2 Game Mixed Numbers & Improper Fractions →Place fractions on a number line, identify one whole, and use benchmarks. Extension: place improper fractions and justify placement.
Week 3 Game Number Line Representation →Generate equivalent fractions, use models to explain, and simplify to lowest terms. Extension: simplify using factors and explain different methods.
Week 4 Game Equivalent Fractions →Compare fractions, order them from smallest to largest, and justify your reasoning. Extension: compare across fractions, decimals and percentages.
Week 5 Game Coming Soon Compare & Order Fractions →Add and subtract fractions with the same denominator. Extension: find common denominators and solve multi-step problems.
Week 6 Game Coming Soon Add & Subtract Fractions →Find fractions of whole number amounts in real contexts. Extension: apply to percentages and solve real-world problems.
Week 7 Game Coming Soon Fractions of Quantities →Solve multi-step problems and explain your thinking clearly. Extension: connect all concepts. Year 7 stretch: multiply and divide fractions.
